Citrus (grapefruit, orange, lemon, etc) is close to holly in whiteness. Does it seem interesting now? You could always stain it, draw with a burner, or add slices from other wood leftovers.

I turned one piece given to me by a friend of mine. It was pretty bland so I dyed it. Worked pretty slick and sold quick.

Jerry, all citrus wood is relatively bland as the heartwood has been bred out of the wood to provide more sapwood to provide more food for the fruit. Sometimes citrus wood will spalt like other woods if it on a tree where part of the tree is dying. Don't know why or how this happens. It turns easily and takes embellishments easily. I'm speaking of citrus wood here in Florida; the citrus wood in other States may have different characteristics.
