That is too cute! I ground so much shell making heishi in the 70's that if I never cut another one that will be ok! But that is a very interesting piece. And points for originality, well done.:cool:

top is ebony and the bottom is ink dyed walnut which was just to be a sample piece but I left it the shell overnight and it moved enough to become stuck in the shell so just added a little CA and left it instead of breaking the shell getting it loose cant beleive that I listened to that little voice that said leave it alone dummy

Tony, that is a very fitting application for the urchin. I have seen folks doing various things with these, and it does look appealing. May have to get a couple of urchins.

I use to have a bunch, but the 'little urchins' grew up and left the home!!:D:rolleyes: Couldn't resist.....
