This bowl was turned from a scrap of spalted Maple left over from turning a 12" bowl. The original piece of tree was irregular in shape and this was a fairly large wedge of wood sitting on the band-saw table. The wood was just too nice to waste. Funny thing is that I like this better than the 12" bowl that came from the same wood.
The finished piece is 5.75" diameter and 3.5" tall. The finish is three coats of Tung Oil Finish.

Harvey, you have done a great job with the curvature of this piece, and the wood and finish are just beautiful. Excellent work!

Harvey,
I really like the shape and the thickness seems to have good consistency. Nice work.

Harvey, you have done a great job with the curvature of this piece,

I just love long sweeping curves, but they are a challenge.

Nice work saving this chunk from the scrap pile.
Well worth the effort. Great job...
