I just returned from IWF in Atlanta. Rockler was featuring one of their new items. It's a set of 4" elbows, that thread together. They would be perfect to do the inlet on a Phil Thien baffle when using 4" hose. As a plus, elbow is shorter than standard elbow, so some height is saved. Included is a set of plans for a "drop box" that would hold most bench top planers. Costs $19.99 for a set of two. Item # is 34367. There is a "free shipping code right now. But item isn't available until Sept 10th. I don't know how to import images from Rockler's site, so maybe someone else can.

I'm not seeing an advantage to threading a nipple ended fitting onto an el that could more easily have a nipple end molded onto it. Fast assembly/removal of piping isn't it.

I just looked. It's for going through a bulkhead - built-in flange on both sides.
