I have been playing with the hollowing rig that I made and added a lazer pointer to it Friday night. These are some Christmas presents that I finished turned today with it. They just have Tung oil on them now. I still need to buff them when they dry.

Any chance of a pic of the homemade hollowing rig???
I ain't much good with steel but I am always looking for ideals.

Whoa, Sparky, these are your first attempts? Mighty fine indeed. I have no experience in hollowing but your work looks great to me!!!

Thanks Guys!
I need to post pictures of my rig now that I have added the laser to it. Now I just need to make about 8 more before Christmas.

Edited: Thats 8 more bowls not hollowing rigs. :D :D

Lookin' good, Sparky!! Hollow vessels are just about my favorite thing when it comes to turning. Great job!

You had me scared for a minute---glad you added that it was eight more bowls.
Almost fell out of my chair.

Really nice hollow forms. I'm still trying to work my way into them. Tried a few at David Ellsworth's class, but I'm a little afraid of trying them on my own.

Looking forward to the pics of your rig. Al Crandall showed me his rig during his visit to Texas a couple weeks ago and I was impressed. From the examples of your work pictured here, your rig must be great also. Fine Christmas presents for lucky people.

Thanks for all the nice comments. I am really proud of these bowls and can't wait to buff them out. I promise that I will get some good pictures of my hollowing rig ASAP and post them for those that want to see them. It is a Jamieson style rig with the laser pointer. It works great!
