Good Day to the Turners of he Creek.
For the past week it's been cherry bowl time.
First one is a small candy/peanut bowl. (or thats what we will go with)

And another set of salad bowls. 7" X 2.5"

Six in total so it won't be a big dinner party....
Now to find a big chunk of cherry for the main bowl.

Hope everyone gets a little lathe time this weekend!

Thanks Pete.
All have a few coats of mineral oil on them and the small bowl has some friction wax on it..

The 'Maker of Salad Bowls'!!! Gary, you are the salad bowl king. I hate to ask, but just on weight alone, of all that 8/4 wood you cut up - how much has been taken out in shavings???? So far, isn't that two sets of salad bowls, and a few other odds and ends?

Thanks John.
It's just about time to haul a few more shaving out of the shop...

No walnut in here so it will go out to the back of the pasture..

Nice bowls Gary, especially the set of salads. Don't know if I could duplicate one piece let alone six.

Thanks David and James.
And now it looks like bubinga bowls will be on the agenda for the next couple of weeks.

Nice work Gary! I love turning Cherry and you have some great looking wood here! Not often that I find it with that rich of a color already! Going to be some beautiful stuff after a couple of years of use!
