Here is a Myrtle platter that I turned last winter. It has a little figure, and a little spalting. It is about 12.25 in diameter and about 1.5 thick. Finish is Danish Oil. Myrtle is one of my favorite woods to turn. Not only is it beautiful but it smells great. It is also very easy to come by on the Oregon coast.
Enjoy,
Mike

Nice platter, Mike! And, I can see why you like the myrtle - beautiful piece of wood. I have had one piece, but it looked no where near as nice as yours.

Gorgeous platter Mike, that wood is beautiful. Wish we could get some of that here in PA. Love the bottom rim and base treatment, too.
