I don't think Meeses live that far south Belinda.

I almost had one a few years ago in Algonquin park just at dusk.

I was riding back to the campground and couldn't figure out what the dark blob was at the crest of the hill, it was a cow moose with one calf. They weren't afraid of the bike, looked at me, and continued across the road.

That would have been ugly, they're bad enough to hit with a car, a bike would have been worse.
