I got a call from one of the wife's uncles who is going to send me a box. It contains photos that belonged to his younger brother who was an aerial photographer during WWII in North Africa. There are many of Roosevelt and his son and quite a few action shots. There are some of Monte Casino on the day before and after they bombed it. What a chunk of history.

How cool is that getting a piece of history like those photos. My wife's grandfather was a professional photographer way back years ago who took photos of government officals, Hollywood actors and actresses and some historic events. I love going through those pics.

I believe there are places on the "net" that would certainly appreciate some of the photos. I'm sure many have never been seen before!!! Good for you.

When I get them I will try to post some. The gent is reluctant to let loose of anything. I learned to go slow with older folks so I am not pushing him though the wife told him we would pay for mail and insurance.

I saw these years ago before the flier passed and there is some very neat stuff. Some he said couldn't be made public at the time as they didn't make us look to good . Being raised on "Victory at sea" every Saturday afternoon I am looking forward to these even if I have to make a trip to Seattle to get them:) Yes, they are a part of history and I want to make copies for my grt.grand kids. What a treasure to be able to show when they are studying history in school.

You will have to get a good scanner and copy them to digital. There are lots of reason for doing this, not the least of which is preservation. Put them on CD's or a backup hard drive. Of course if you are adept you can process the images and improve the quality using programs like Photo Shop.

By the way, this is my first post here on Sawmill Creek. I am a photographer and a woodworker, not to mention retired from a position with AT&T.
