I made this cherry bowl as a wedding gift for my great-niece. It is 10" x 2.75", finished in home brew oil, buffed and ren wax. This piece started out darker than any cherry that I have turned, it will be interesting to see how much darker it gets.
C&C welcome, thanks for looking.

Nice One Steve :), I expect the bowl to keep this darker color than other Cherry, I had a log that was much darker and the pieces I got from it always stayed darker than other Cherry wood, I like the "bowl in a bowl" look you did with the rim shape, I think this one will be appreciated for a long time to come, well done :D

Steven,
Great looking bowl. I agree with Steve, I really like the edge treatment you've done. That will make a cherished gift for your niece. It will darken very nice as time goes by.

very nice, woodturning really does make giving presents a whole lot better than walking around the mall

Pretty piece of wood that will get a bit darker with age, I'm sure. Your great niece will surely cherish this as a family heirloom.

Very nice. It makes a great gift! I might suggest adding their names and wedding date to the bottom as a forever rminder of when and why it was made.
