This shows the side panel with the bookmatched sapwood...

My LOML likes the Mission/Southwest look.......I tried to get there with the backboards....the "Sunset" look.

Hope you like....

Beautiful work Arnie. I had read the Wood Magazine article but your combination of woods really sets the design off.

What is the finish?

Neil...

I used 1/3 each of BLO, Poly, and Mineral Spirits for the first coat, then 2/3 Poly - 1/3 Mineral Spirits for the next coats. Just wipe on....wait five minutes or so, then wipe off. Eight hours between coats.

I have about four more coats to go.....building coats really isn't that hard, but the reason you wait about 8 hours is that the previous coat isn't set hard, which allows the 2 coats to bond together......or so I was told.

Thanks for all the encouragement and compliments.....I have learned so much from this forum. Fellow woodworkers within SMC are so helpful with advice, a person can't help but improve when you hang around this outfit.

Thanks again.
