I received my new G690 TS almost two weeks ago but circumstances have prevented me from spending the necessary time to get it assembled. It's fired up now! Thanks to all the Creekers who helped me make my decision!
The boxes all arrived in amazing condition. No rips. tears, etc.

Here is the saw unboxed and waiting to be moved to my basement shop. UPS tailgate service is great. The driver could not have been more helpful getting it up my steep driveway and into the garage. I spiffed him $20 and he was a happy camper!

I rented an appliance dolly and my son and I had no problems moving it to the basement.
Here it is mounted on it's mobile base. No complaints so far about the base although I was leary about ordering a shop fox based on other thread reports. Only complaint is I would have liked for it to be about an inch narrower. I guess I could have cut the rails but my son was on his way home from work and it would have taken a bit too much time for his patience.

The table was extremely flat. I have a couple of small pockets that are about .004 low but the majority of the table was dead flat. The extensions were flat as well. Even after the extensions were mounted I could not find anything unacceptably out of flat. The blade was parallel to the mitre slot to less than .001 out of the box according to my HF dial indicator. Certainly acceptable for this hobbyist. I was delighted with the table flatness after reading about other's flatness problems. The fence was also flat. I had one dip on the face of about .003 but again, I am totally satisfied.

The only disappointment was in the blade insert. The insert was bowed so badly it is virtually useless. When the Veritas is flat to one end, there is a gap of greater than 1/16". I didn't ever bother to gap it. The dado insert is almost as bad. I was going to get a ZC insert anyway but will call Griz customer service next week and see what they can do. It is hard to show the gap but here is a picture:

Here is the saw all assembled and ready to rip (wood!). It will be a few days before I can actually cut wood as I am going out of town tomorrow for a few days. Unfortunately, my trip will also prevent me from answering questions but I'll respond when I return and make some sawdust!
