Woooo hooooo! I think I found a wood turning club. They meet on Saturdays. Only thing.... it'll be a 2 hour trip there and a 2 hour trip back home. They will be meeting on the 3rd Saturday in September.

Thanks to everyone who had shown concern.

Congrats on finding a club... That's about the same distance I would have to drive to get involved with one. Keep us posted on how it goes.

Good news is that you will enjoy the learning experience and camaraderie of fellow turners. The two hour drive, well that will give you time alone to reflect on future projects. I make all our club meetings and really enjoy them, and the 10 minutes drive, well I don't have time to gather any thoughts. Good Luck.-

You need to pull someone else into the vortex you can carpool with. I am fortunate to be within a 45 minute drive to three different clubs and carpool to most of them.

Good for you, John. Perhaps you will be able to find someone who would like to share the ride!

Thats great news. I know of them by attending the woodworkers show in Timonium, Md. They usually have a booth there with live turning all weekend.

Jon,

You have me beat. I have to drive only 1 1/2 hours each way.
