Finally, a Jack Plane, a smoother, and a Red Head eggbeater, a #52 spokeshave, some odds & ends. I'm finding that I like the gull wing style of the #51 better than the #52.

Here's the sole of the woodie. I'm debating whether to glue a new sole on or construct an entirely new carcass out of rock maple. I generally don't like woodies because the adjustment's too fussy for me, but with a Bailey-style adjuster I might be persuaded to give this a whirl. What say you, does the sole exist apart from the carcass? Nature or nurture? Unstoppable force or unmovable object? Should I retread this venerable oldster or make it a bigger project with my son?
