Been away for way too long, concentrating on doing my own extreme kitchen makeover, wall to wall, floor to ceiling, and still have a bit to go...
Anyway, I was able to do a small bowl for a gift, about 8 1/2" in diameter, out of cherry to commemorate my nephew's wedding. The walls are 3/16" to 1/4" thick and the finish is Watco and Deft spray laquer.
I got the idea from the fall 2009 issue of an American Woodturner magazine I had picked up, and a project in there by Wes Jones.
