It seems like forever since I was active on the Creek. A lot has happened and I almost got out of turning permanently. I even almost sold Beauty but thank goodness the doctors ruled out turning as a contributing cause to my medical problem and I am getting back to it again. I have moved to Willis, Texas and am now raising a 2 yr old grandson along with my better half. I'm looking forward to getting back into the swing of things here; saying Hi to all my old friends and meeting all the new folks.:D

WELCOME BACK CHRIS!!!!!!!!

It certainly has been quite some time since I've seen you here and I'm glad things have worked out to allow you to return. I was just thinking about you the other day too, being you haven't been around.

Yes, things have progressed here at the Creek and we have some excellent new turners for you to meet too.

I for one and glad you have come back.

Tony

One can only hope your changes make for a better life.

And farther away from all that damnable oak.

Welcome back, bub.

Welcome back, Chris! I lived in Conroe for a long time and Willis was in the STICKS. I guess it has grown up some by now. I hope you have everything worked out and are ready to play some now!

Chris - man, it's great to have you back! You have been missed!

Are you done traveling now? I seem to remember that you ended up doing a lot of cross country travel for sales - something about being a rep! You still in the business?

How do you like Willis? Lot farther away from the Gulf! That's probably a good thing!

Really nice to have you back!

Really nice to have you back! Thanks Steve, I've really missed you guys. I guess you could say I am retired so no more travel. Since I live right on the lake I have added some fishing to turning. We're about 100 miles from the gulf now which suits me just fine.:)

Hi Chris:

Glad to see your post, welcome back to the Creek. Sounds like you've been dealing with some of the bumps of life; I hope you only have smooth paths ahead.

We moved to Douglasville, GA 15 months ago. I'm still turning and loving it, even have some items in a local gift shop.

I remember turning on Beauty a few years ago. Hope you're back at it soon.

Best regards, Tom

Chris buddy. Good to have to you back and posting. It has been a long time and hope your move will only improve your health. I think the last time you and I had talked was trying to make a C-Man lathe I had work. I finally took it to the dump and bought a DVR XP. Again good to see ya back and hope things are going well for you.

Chris, I am late to the "Welcome Back" party, but I look forward to some of your posts. I did look back at some of your turnings, and you do some fine work.

Also, some of us need all the help we can get dealing with some of the old codgers that have become cantankerous, and hard to deal with.:D I wouldn't normally talk that way about Bernie, Andy, Tom and some of the others, but you know what I am saying....!!!!:D

Now as to the Cantankerous Ones, I know what you mean but I suppose there are those who would say the same of me. Now as to the BIG THREE; There is Bernie the Bear but he is a Teddy Bear at heart. Then we have Tom the Trouble Maker but he is really Tommy Tortus, he is slow and deliberate but he always crosses the finish line. Well, the lineup isn't complete without the most notorious of the gang, Andy the Aardvark.
Now, Andy the Aardvark only turns as a guise, he really turns to feast on all the ants and termites that he cuts from the bowl blanks and what meal would be complete without the big famous cup of Moxie. The way to keep him in line is to put a pretty girl in the room with him. He goes all mushy and looses his ability to be ornery.
