Not bad shop time this weekend and ended up finishing these four shallow bowls.
Zebra 7"x2" with a simple mineral oil and friction wax finish.

The last one had a little surprise in it.

Woo hoo! Now that is pretty! Very nice turnings and very pretty wood! I heard some where [David Marks, I think] that when Zebra wood is cut it smells like a "wet dog." Did you find it that way?

Really nice Gary!

Gary, really a nice grouping with those!! And, I like how the "surprise bowl" turned out - the "defect" ended up being an accent!

Nice pics! And, nicer bowls! Geri is going to have a newly stocked kitchen.

Those bowls look awesome. As for the smell while turning, zebrawood smells like dung!

Those are really nice bowls! I like how they all have that "O" in the grain over to the side of the bowls.

Very nice looking bowls Gary. Zebra wood has some great grain and you have done it justice.

Cant go wrong with zebrawood.

Now you just need a tigerwood, lepardwood and maybe you can start a bowl zoo...

Super wood you got there, those bowls look great. I am not usually a huge fan of glossy finish, but with these it works!!

Gary, can you elaborate on the finish? What kind of "friction wax" did you use? And did you buff at all after, or was it simply wax over the mineral oil and frictioned to give it the gloss?

Nice end result!

Thanks for all the comments everyone.
Jake.
I use the Shellawax finishes from LV. Start with the ultra shine and finish it off with the shellawax liquid to give it the shine.
