This is the modification made to add a tube to clean the plexiglass sight port that I added to my dust collector bin. The tube is 1/2" poly with a wooden plug at glass end that had one side shaved off like a whistle part to create a high velocity against the glass and held against the glass. You could also drill the hole, but my object was to minimize the pressure drop in the tube and get small volume of air at high velocity to offset the static electricity dust attraction that otherwise happened. This picture was after some use and you can see the clean area. A small loss of capacity to me is worth avoiding overfilling the bin and sending dust and shavings to the cyclone after filter. It seems that I have seen similar tube used for aircraft to keep windows cleared and that was my source for idea.
