I'm going to be making a linen cabinet for my bathroom which has 94-1/2" tall ceilings. How tall should/can I make the cabinet so that it can still be stood up after I get it through the doorway?

I will be putting up some trim/molding around the top so I can have some gap, but how much?

Also, I don't really want to do the "reveal" around the top with a gap like you sometimes see.

Have you thought about building it in?

The pythagorean theory is all you need. The height squared plus the depth squared =the diagonal length squared. The diagonal length is it's max height while tipping it up.

If you don't like math, put it on a separate 4" base and a 2" top trim piece on the cab and I promise you will have a mile of extra room when standing the cabinet up.

(Who likes math. If your cab is 16" deep, and you want an extra 1/2" cushion while tipping her up, max H. is 92.625.)

If you still have a full sheet of plywood, draw the dimensions out and measure the diagonal.

You can run it all the way to the ceiling, if you build a base to sit it on.
