Good Day to the Turners of the Creek.

Small herd of salad bowls.
These came from the cleaning up of my lumber rack.
There was a little opps when I broke a rule and when I went back on one of them to clean up the rim detail.
Ever so slight wobble and a little catch. It will end up being a way smaller shallow bowl.

While doing the set I had a couple of checks that were filled with glue and some shavings.
Finish is a couple of coats of tung oil.

Those look awfully good. Doing sets has got to be a challenge. Must be nerve racking to get through 5, work on 6 and know that there is not enough matching wood for another number 6.

Wow! Six bowls... and all "the same"... That's awesome. I can't even make two that look alike. And don't worry about the ****ed one... odd numbers are better. One couple always has a kid...

Nicely done. When seeking your brownie points, I'd make sure the misses knows how awful dry white oak is to turn:mad:... That's worth something extra.:D

Thanks for the comments.
John, I'm thinking if keep racking up the brownie points, I should be close to even in 2012.
And your right David. I really like the look of QSWO in furniture but in the round world, the jury is still out...

Gary - those sure are some pretty salad bowls! I am curious how well they work for salads being that they are so open grained. Would think that any salad oil or dressing would wick into the wood and be really hard to keep clean. I don't know if that is going to happen - just wondering.

Very pretty wood! Thanks for sharing!
