Well, since I am a bit squeemish at spending a hundred bucks on a fence, I was wondering if any of you had pictures of shop-made fences for your bandsaw.

Any shop made Mitre Gauges?

I have to rip some 2x2 stock down for a mobile base, but my current setup requires C-Clamps which someone currently has. I have a 3/8 blade on my saw, which seems to work fine, but the fence should be ajustable for drift.

Thanks

Just what you're using. Clamp a board to the table. It can be adjusted for drift. Some fences can't.

What band saw do you have? Put a WTB in the Classifieds.

"Lumber Yard" over on Woodnet, is selling NIB, Jet 16" bs fence kits for $47 + $20 shipping. Someone is selling them on Ebay also.
I installed one on my Delta 14" Great fence

Matt:

Here is a slide show of the one that I designed for my BS. It's a simple "TEE". The "TEE" slides on two machine screws inserted into existing threaded holes in the infeed side of the table. The screws also adjust it for drift. The fence stays parallel when moved. Clamps lock it securely front and rear. You can add a tall resaw fence. I still haven't found anything that I like better at any price.

I bought one of the Jet fences off of ebay. Its a bit big on my little 12" Craftsman, but a rather nice fence.

I like my bandsaw fence: http://photos.ganzhorn.org/album808

If you go to ncwoodworker (dot) net and search for "bandsaw fence copy" you will find my write up (thread by eyekode).

The only thing I would change is to make a second shorter fence as well. Along these lines I think Lonnie's fence looks great too :).

Depends on how you look at it, I suppose.
This fence cost me just under that, shipped. Of course, I wanted a period correct fence for the band saw.

This fence is a newer model, and can be adjusted for blade drift.

Here's a quick miter gauge You need a bit of aluminum extrusion to match the slot in the saw and toilet bolts and wing nuts or knobs. LV sells these as do others. I had the parts lying around.

Hopefully the picture are self explanatory.

You may have more patience than I, but after a few months of farting around with clamps that $100 fence will look pretty cheap, especially if it has a microadjust.
