Finally almost done with THIS project, but the client is adding more work! I guess that is good. Now if only all my projects would be of this size plus furniture

WOW! Really nice, Paul. Sure wish I had some cathedral ceilings to work with. I see you're putting all that nice MM equipment to good use! Jim.

Could you tell us what you used for all the painted pieces? MDF or ply? Great work. Alan

Ted,
Yes I designed, fabricated and installed everything in the room myself. I left the painting up to the painters. I am done painting for other people. It is bad enough to paint for myself ! :)

Alan,
All of the window trim was done in MDF. That was done in order to have the arch portion of all three windows match the vertical trim, all other trim is poplar. I would have done it in wood and done a profile on it but the client did not want to spring for the extra $$$. What you can not see is that all the window trim has a beaded trim installed on both the inside and outside edge. The mantel both upper and lower is poplar (stlye & rails), cabinet grade plywood and of course the cherry top for the lower mantle.

Paul, I really admire your work and attention to detail. Your design works well with this room. It makes it very inviting and cozy. When it's fully furnished, I think your work will stand out even more. A truly great job!

Looks great Paul! You should be Very Proud!!

A question.... Did you do anything to seal the MDF before the painters got to it?

Brian,
Nope the painters primed and painted it themselves. I do believe though they primed the MDF then sanded it and applied two coats of finish
