Hi all, what Band Saw blade should I be looking for for my 14" Jet with risers for cutting hardwoods around 4/4 stock size. The cuts I would use this blade for would be longer slight curves. Size, TPI, etc... Thanks, Sean

I use 1/4" 6 tooth/inch. Works pretty well for slight/moderate curves.

Hi, I'd go with a 4 or 6 TPI blade in a 3/8" or 1/2" width for long gentle curves.

Regards, Rod.

I use either a 3/8" or 1/2" 3tpi skip tooth blade for that task on my 14" Jet with a riser block. It will cut cooler than a 4 or 6 rpi blade. The sawdust escapes from the cut easier.

3/8" skip tooth (3 tpi) thin kerf with rounded back edge. I run about 3000 sfpi (surface feet per min.) and get a clean cut. I also slow it down for re-sawing.

I prefer a 3/8" 10TPI regular tooth with a raker set as I find a skip/hook to be too aggressive for accurate contour cutting, this is fine for 4/4 stock.
