I just scored a 42x saw set at the flea market this morning:D.

It's in decent shape, even has a bit of the decal left. The problem is... no springs.

Does any one have a good source for springs? Or can I just go up the the hardware store and try different springs.

I know my local ACE Hardware has a wide selection of springs. I do not know what size spring is needed.

You might head on down and see if they have something that will work.

I think Home Depot or Lowes also sells a box of assorted springs that could work. I think the box goes for about $5.

ok, I guess I'll make the trip to the hardware store.

I really don't hold much hope for that. The springs for the 42x look unusual to me especially the smaller one. The small spring is much stiffer than the large one.

Golly Now I'm going to have to look at my 42x and take a peek at the springs.
