Seen a "Norm" show where in he made a table that had a set of wheels that set in place with a pull of a string.

Has anybody built this mobile type base or a version on his plans. A pic would be appreciated.

His assembly table is a good example of functionality and it seems to be serving the NYW well for the past few years since he built it. The key to that design is that the wheels are out of the way when they are not in use and the item's legs are in full contact with the floor at that point. The casters on the bench I recently sold are only at one end and are off the floor just a hair when the bench is in position. Lifting up the other end changed that and made it easy to move at will.

Even the largest shops benefit from mobility so I recommend that anything short of built-ins be easily movable. There will always be that "one project" that requires you to be flexible!

There are pictures of the bench, but they don't show the design of the wheel assembly very well. The plans are only $10.95.
