Masonite Stickers

Good to be back knee deed in wood chips again!
Actually, I never left but now my dues are all paid up.:o

First time I've worked with a large load of rough sawn lumber.
Have about 500 bf of Black Ash, and Paper Birch, some off my land.
It's been air drying in my open shed off the ground with the obligatory 1x stickers for about 3 years now.

I want my shed back :mad:. I purchased (not nearly enough) LV lumber shelving when there was free shipping. (Mini gloat)

After all that explanation will Masonite (HDF) stickers be suitable for long term storage. 1x stickers double the amount of storage space required.

Did you check the moisture? If it's dry, how about no stickers at all?

+1. No stickers needed unless you plan on storing the boards in a climate controlled environment and want them to dry down to 6% - 8%. You'd have to maintain around 40% - 50% RH for this to occur.

No stickers prevents dried lumber from absorbing excess moisture. At 11% MC you are good! It's also called a "fire-safe" pile.

Tyler, you don't "need" stickers if your wood is at ambient MC...which at 11%, it likely is. I have, from time to time, used some 1/4" stickers like that when I wanted a little air flow through the rack, but not often.
