I am trying to open a couple of tif files in PhotoPaint and get the message "_ENG YCbCR images are not supported". Any ideas of what this means? The files are viewable in Microsoft Office Document imaging (I can't say for sure they are rendered 100% accurately but at least they open.) I wanted to resample the tif files and don't know how to proceed.

YCbCr is a video format, similar to CMYK for print formats... it's luminance and the red/blue chrominance values. No idea why that format is in an image.

I found a similar error on a Polish site, but after a few messages it just died with no solution.

Can you post the file?

It appears to tied to a Nikon codec.

See this post halfway down the page:
But try raw first.

Is it possible that Photoshop would open that file? CS3 will open RAW but I'm not sure about Photopaint. I think RAW is supported in the last version or two.
