Multiple projects on the radar screen at a friend's house out past Tappahannock on the lower Potomac. Would rather not have to go to NoVa (not like I have to drive the truck, though - that'll be his problem, I just gotta "show" him how to build the stuff :p). Would be happy for NoVa options in case the prime target area is n/a.

Looking for: 4x8 sheets of 3/4" & 1/2" paint-grade birch ply; 4x8 sheets 3/4" & 1/2" hardwood veneer ply (prolly plain-sliced RO, but don't know yet); WRC timbers - 4x4, 4x6, 4x8, 6x6 - that type of stuff - likely need up to 10 foot. Home Depot on-line shows the ply amaybe vailable in Fredricksburg, just looking for options from a dedicated supply house, rather than the BORG. No clue where to look for the WRC.

5x5 Baltic would be nice to find out about, but the forseeable targets need 4x8.

I know exactly where to go here at home in Atlanta, but I ain't driving the stuff up to his place unless he commits to a serious quality upgrade in his wine closet inventory.

Thanks much for any insight y'all might have.

They have a good selection of lumber and sheet goods. No WRC but they might know of a source.

David - hot damn! Thanks, pal! The WRC will be a painted arbor, so the Doug Fir would do just fine as an option - DF hadn't crossed my mind.
