Its been a year of sitting and drying but I managed to turn a turkey pot (slate over glass 3 1/4) out of some of my oak. I had cut this into small 1 inch pieces but had no idea what it would end up as at the time.

Thanks!

I knew I would have issues with drying it so I put several pices in a bag with shavings after cutting them. They sat in there for 6 months or so then on a drying rack until this week. I did loose a few blanks, but I knew it was a risk seeing all the knots in them. I have a ton more drying the regular way so more to come later this fall or early spring depending on how fast they dry.

I really like your work although I have no idea what a turn key is. Well finished. And I also like the way you photograph your work. Well done Ken.

It's pretty wood and a nice looking call and striker... Pretty much the norm for you.

Ken, nice work on these, and I would imagine the oak would have a nice, raspy tone to it. Should give you some good volume, too. And....as always, such neat pics!!

I'm tellin' ya', I think you could make a livin' at this picture stuff!!!;):D:D

Seriously, Ken, your photography is awesome - even the motocross stuff and I'm not even in to that. But, the wildlife pics and the still shots of your calls are just wonderful.

Where is a tutorial on how those should be made? I'd love to make one, even though there are no turkeys in my area. But are some not too far away and it would be fun to try to call some.

Yours are always beautiful.

Definetly worth the wait. The turkey pot looks great. Turned oak always surprises me. Another nice piece and photo.
