Last summer I scored this sander from CL for $300. Appeared to have very little use and all it needed was a new switch for $5. However, the cast iron bed was not parallel to the 4" drum. As I’ve not sanded wide glue-ups, this was tolerable for awhile. Yesterday I dove into it and found the problem, which perhaps others with this machine can use.
The table cap screws tighten down on the top of the four threaded height adjusting rods. Each rod has its own table height adjustment knob that travels up & down on the rod. On my machine, all four knobs had been backed off so that the table didn’t rest on any of them. For adjustment to be possible, all four knobs must support the table. After positioning them roughly, fine adjustment was pretty easy.
Hope this helps someone
