So I was on CL last night and saw a Delta Radial Arm Saw for $400. I've bought a few machines from the guy that is selling it. He's on the quest for the perfect shop so he buys machinery, cleans, calibrates and tests them to see how they work. He uses them for about a month or so then sells them for more in order to buy the "nice stuff".

Anyways, so then I happen to hit the back button and my firefox jammed. I hit refresh and see that a new post was just added for a Craftsman Radial Arm Saw for $40. I'm thinkin this idiot left a zero off. So I look at it and it's an older one but still in great shape. I email him and ask if the price is right and he says YES!!!!:eek::eek:

I immediately told the guy to please hold it for me and I would be there today to pick it up. He agreed and took down the listing. So today I picked this little gem up for a whoppin $40. That is the cheapest power tool I have in my shop right now I do believe :D

I know that it didn't happen without pictures so I snapped one on the camera phone real quick. I have to put the base back together and clean it up some but the shop is a wreck and full of furniture right now from house cleaning. Sorry about the quality and lighting.

I believe that etiquette dictates that ... SOMEBODY says ... YOU SUCK :D

Congrats ! Be safe. Those things ... scare me ... just a little ;)

Be safe. Those things ... scare me ... just a little ;)They scare me a lot! So much that I sold mine 25 years ago, and swore I would never own another one.

That said, You got an extremely good deal, and so long as you are VERY careful, they can be a really useful tool. Congrats!!

Check with Sears for this saw being on the guard recall. You get a new guard and table. Or you can send them the motor in exchange for $100 if I remember the details of the program correctly. Google it.

Thanks everybody. I was scared of them about 10 years ago. My grandad had one. But I used it and mastered it before I ever owned a tablesaw so I have a lot of knowledge on em.

Ron, the guy had already done the recall and got the new blade guard. I forgot to mention that he had the new blade guard, 2 molding cutter heads, a dado set, and 4 blades for it.

OH yeah, and John, I love the new profile pic. I laughed hysterically at that whole thread on the Turner's forum.
