I picked up 14 bdf of reclaimed curly redwood and a claro walnut slab 39"x 28"x 1" that has been sanded flat with a wide belt. I wet walnut to show the color. The redwood has a top coat on it. I have never bought either types of wood before so I do not know if I paid to much . I paid 150 for all of it. Now out to the garage to figure what to make.:D

Cameron,

Man, I don't know where you found this wood but you got a real steal.
The claro walnut goes for about 16-22.00 a BF and the curly redwood
can get close to the same price. I paid 350.00 for two pieces of curly redwood when I was in Portland, Or recently at Gilmer Woods, St. Helens road, Portland they were guitar blanks about 2" thick and 18" X 22".

Count your blessings buddy, you got a real deal.

The claro works well with very sharp tools and the redwood is a soft wood
so be careful with it. Good luck I would like to see what you end up making with these pieces. Really nice find.

I found them on craigslist. I live in the middle of the redwoods so old growth redwood is very easy to find. This redwood was from a remodel and was wall panel 12" wide and 3/4" thick. They have a lot more but I picked out most the the curly. Thanks I feel even better now.
