I am building display cabinet for my wife collections. All sides and front doors will be glass in frames.
Because of total height of cabinet - 70", I am start worry flimsiness:confused: of the door frame. My plan is 2" wide stiles and rails.
I make one door' frame without glass and think it may be to light for load of glass:confused:
Would you please, tell me what you think.

Ed,

I don't think you'll have any problems as long as your door frame thickness is a full 3/4 inch, and you use hardware which will support the weight of the door and glass. Yes/no?

Hi Harvey, did not seeing you for a long time. How are you?

yes, frame is 3/4" , and after posting this question, I made an all four doors. To my surprise it is not fill flimsy. Will see when I will add a glass to it.

Hi Ed,

I'm sure that 3/4 inch thickness will be adequate support for the glass. I built a similar cabinet years ago and had no problem.

I'm fine! Just have an addiction to the lathe. Don't get started! (my best advise to you!)

Hope to see you soon!
