My youngest daughter (14) has been pretty good this summer and went with me to WC about a week ago. Well she was back there looking at the blanks so I let her pick out one. Here is the result.

Nice work Karl! Sure is a fancy pen! Did she help you turn it?

The kiddies are going to be coveting that one! Very colorful and nice work. I always enjoy thinking about the person Im making the pen for while I make it, hoping some of that energy will travel with the pen!

Thanks guys.

I have been fighting my sciatic nerve all day because I am having quite a bit of fun in the shop. Kind of a give and take I guess.

I have an osage orange pen in lacquer, a cedar pen with nice color to it in lacquer, and getting ready to put about 4 more together. I got trigger happy on the band saw today and starting cutting some blanks and gee it is crazy how you see a blank and tell yourself "that will make a nice pen" then you find another and another and well you know.
Like I always say "there aint no bad wood, just some is better than others".
