An old flame of mine saw pictures of my woodworking stuff and asked me to make her pendants for her and her mother. She then said, "Red is my favorite color." What to do with that?

So I had some curly maple scraps laying about. I chucked them up and used red food coloring on the edge and one side of each. I like playing with design more, but I thought the grain was enough for these. Didn't want to diminish that.

Pics show both pendants flipped. CA finish.

Your pendants look good. I am always a amazed at how good turnings take die, seems I always forget that until I see something that has been died. Certainly the maple grain comes thru the food coloring fine.

those are really nice looking, both of them.

How big in diamater are those?

I have been looking at making some just keep putting it off. I think they would sell pretty good where I live, I just need to "get r done".

I'm impressed. I would have never thunk you could create so much character. But you did. ;)
