Just tried my new Worksharp 3000 and it works great. Took a few old chisels that were in really bad shape and it was amazing how well it worked.I know it won't sharpen everything but for what I spent I'm very pleased. Tim

I agree, it is an amazing tool. It goes through the sanding disks quickly, especially the finer grit ones, but it does a great job sharpening chisels and plane irons.

I'm still looking for a source for cheap 400 and 1000 grit disks, but I'm sure they're out there.

I got one for Father's day. Just used it this past weekend to sharpen the iron on my Type 18 No 4 Stanley... honed the back on sandpaper/granite plate first, I don't like the way the WS hones for large irons.. for chisels it's fine I guess but not for plane irons.

Anyway, it put a great edge on my No 4 and I felt like I was planing like a pro in no time!

I've had one for awhile now (http://www.sawmillcreek.org/attachment.php?attachmentid=116048&d=1240157914). A very worthwhile tool.

I added the wide blade attachment to mine and it does a really good job on my plane irons.
