I have a Magna (Shopsmith forerunner) bandsaw on a power stand. Has served me well though a little small for some things. I'm changing the motor that was on it when I got it from a 1/3hp to a 1/2hp 1725 rpm motor. The original motor is just too underpowered for some thicker stock.
Question is:
What is the correct rpm for the saw? With this info I can install the correct size pulleys. Better yet, if any of you have the similar set up, what pulleys do you use?
TIA.

Since you're not changing the motor RPM, your original pulleys should work fine. I bought the 4-step pair from Shopsmith years ago for speed change, but rarely change speeds.

Joe, I appreciate your reply, but I still don't know what the "correct" speed is. Any help there?
