Swan neck bar?... He don't need no stinking swan neck bar!

That's a beautiful piece. Nice proportions and beautiful wood. Maybe I misunderstood Randy, it seems as though his tools have made you a great turner!

Wow, very nice! Nice shape, Im finishing up a smaller bowl, very similar shape out of asian satinwood, but it's closer to 3/8", than 3/16".
I'll up a pic before the impending get up and go.

David, you have successfully shown your potential, and that of the Monster!! Well done, beautiful wood, and very clean form.

What finish did you use? It has only been a couple of days, so I am guessing you borrowed some of Hart's lacquer!!:D

"...I am guessing you borrowed some of Hart's lacquer..."

I only wish! But no, it's just a bit of oil, wet sanded to 1,200 grit, waxed and polished a bit.

If I had one of those "things" would I be able to turn something that pretty? That is really a pretty bowl.

He swings..............................and it's out of the park!

Very nicely done David! Form shows a constant flowing line. My glasses are little sweaty now as I just came in from mowing the lawn. I would say that is an excellent first HF! Very nice!

"My glasses are little sweaty now as I just came in from mowing the lawn."

I never wear my glasses when I mow the lawn. OK, maybe I miss a few spots but the yard always seems to look better if it has a bit of blur applied...
