I am ready to buy the Sawstop PCS and am looking at the base options. There was a recent thread which did a great job at discussing the options and I am leaning toward the Industrial Mobile Base. My problem is that I am on the tall side with a bad back so I would like to raise the saw up so that the table top is 40" high instead of the 34".

I currently have a Jet Xacta that has a strong wooded platform sitting in a mobile base and am thinking I would do the same for the Sawstop. Does anyone have any experience doing this and how did you do it?

I am also wondering if anyone has built an extension table and if there were any pictures.

I build platforms and use a pallet jack to move the machines around. http://www.thewoodnerd.com/blog/?p=182 shows my sawstop on one. I've added adjustable feet since this photo.

These platforms are more stable than any mobile base I've used before. Cheaper and I like the way they raise the work level. I like my work surfaces at around 38"
