One of the suppliers I've been using has switched to wafer core for veneered sheet goods. The product is produced in Canada and it's supposed to be much more stable than plywood core, but the same weight. MDF core is of course stable, but I hate MDF and I am building 4 bathroom vanities so I'm not sure MDF core is the best product for a bath.
Has anyone used the wafer core?
Also, the guy said today that this may be the last of the wafer core material. The cost has apparently gone up a ton and they are going to something else?
Thoughts?
