Anyone Make a Sacrificial Fence for Laguna's Driftmaster BS Fence?

I played/worked with this fence over the weekend and really like it. The fence although hefty is made of aluminum and I managed to put some light dragging marks in it during usage. I noticed and was wondering what the slot in the front of the fence was for in the video at the Laguna web site (this slot was not in the fence I received). I think it may be for a sacrificial fence? Anyone put a sacrificial fence on their DM fence?
