Someone called my attention to an article on water safety that explains what we see on TV and movies and what is reality when someone is drowning are two different things.

People often drown because people near them do not realize they are in need of help.

Yep. My son's lifeguard instructor told the class to watch out for the kids NOT making noise. Throats filled with water can't yell for help.

I'm on the water frequently with inexperienced kayakers and this will be of great help if ever needed.

Very Nice. I used to be a lifeguard long ago, and this article illustrates one of the big reasons that people need to be properly trained.

I just printed it out and posted it on the company bulletin board.

Thanks :)
