Help with Mirror Frame

I'm making a cherry frame for a mirror. It's shaped like a half oval and 3/4" thick and 1 3/4" wide. The mirror will sit in a 1/4" deep grove on the inside back edge of the frame. I'd like to add a "V" as part of the frame, but it won't meet at the bottom, separated by about 6". I'm trying to figure out how to attach the pieces of the "V" to the top and bottom pieces of the frame. The pieces of the "V" will be 1/2" thick and the frame is also 1/2" thick since I've rabitted out 1/4" from the frame for the mirror.

Any suggestion on how best to do this?
