Here's my latest offering although the chatoyance still bothers me. Five coats of wipe on poly. Then buffed with tripoli, WD, then Ren wax. All comments, criticisms, and jokes are welcome!

Thanks for looking!:D

I think it's nice. The little slant and undercut at the rim are both nice.

Great work Harvey!! Ya know..the rim cut is exactly the same as a bowl that Carole Valentine gave me years ago....and she's famous.;)

I really like the chatoyance of the wood and finish it adds a nice depth to the piece. I enjoyed the overall presentation and the detail at the rim is first rate. It begs to be held and examined. I've been playing around with some mulberry I saved from the chipper and have found it has similar qualities in its iridescence. I also enjoy the warm patina it develops after a couple of weeks in the sun. I find it to be very relaxing to behold when using smooth gentle curves. Much as you've done with this piece. BE VERY PROUD OF YOUR BOWL. It is about as good as one could wish for it to be. Have a safe and Happy Fourth of July Holiday weekend.

Allen,

I still think that the finish is a bit too "plasticy" but am overall very pleased with the outcome. I just happen to like a very shiny bowl and will have to find a happy medium.

Thanks for looking and commenting!

Well if you're that unhappy with the chatoyance I will force myself to take it off your hands. Very nice work.
