Next time you are useing a credit card to scrape the early morning frost off your cars windows.....us the same technique that you use with a card scraper when cleaning up your lumber. It takes a nice shaveing and it removes more frost in one pass. Plus, you get to pretend that your woodworking as you head off to work.......

Sounds like a case of credit card abuse! :) Shouldn't it be put to better use at LV, Woodcraft, or one of the other places?

Donnie -

Good idea. A little pretend never hurts.

Today I had frost (on one side only) for the first time this year. :)

Regards,
Ted

I am going to hone my window scraper tonight...and will report back on Friday. This report will be in accordence to paragragh 3 of the "guide to post on Sawmill Creek", sub catgeory 3b...."how to modify non-woodworking tools to become woodworking tools"....... :D

Imagine my surprise when I was removing the frost with my card useing the said technique.....nice curly shaveings of frost about.... :D

I found a better way. Bought a Little Budy cab heater and wired it up with the block heater. When I get up in the morning the cab is about 45 deg. and the engine is warm. Windows are clean and don't need to scrape.

I just dig down to the bottom of the pile between the seats and there is the icescraper from last year.

But Steve,

You only need an ice scraper about 2 times a year in Dallas!!! :p :p  :D

We had a good frost here last night....forget the ice scraper and wait until the sun melts it off the windows and THEN go in to work.!!! ;)

(Regarding the cab heater)

I looked and said, "hey! what a great idea!". Then I remembered I was in Virginia--might be overkill for me. :)

Frost, what is that????? :D

I'd have traded for frost after the 3 hurricanes we had this year.

There are not many things I feel I am an expert on but I’ve had many years of experience in the windshield ice scraping area.

Here how you do it, you have this thing called an “auto-start” installed in your vehicle by a qualified technician.

Next you sit in your easy chair and push this little button on you remote start module and drink another cup of coffee, when your are done with you coffee the ice and snow is gone. Just that simple, of course now I have probably offended some SUV haters but hey that's life in the snow country.
