Help on any information on this jig. Manufactured by J W Wilkenson Co of Boston. First owner has name and date of 1886 stamped into wooden base.

He offered to sell it to me and ask me to see what similar items sell for.

Please see pictures - if I can get them to attach

It looks similar in function to a jig Lee Valley sells for about $40. For me, that would bracket its high-end as a user tool. Also, file availability has drastically decreased over the decades. (I miss Nicholson Bandsaw Blunt files.) Make sure you can get files that fit it.

A friend saw my Wentworth (long) and my other short saw vices for filing and wanted to buy one cheaply. I promptly informed him that he'd never get one for under $10. Well, he did. I paid just a little more than $10 for one; just less than $20 for the other. On the @ay I've seen prices all over. So, just depends. That one looks fancy-smancy. I would think the 'cool' factor, along with its good shape, would drive up the cost.

Good luck.
