I'm planing on building a bookcase that will open to a "hidden" area under our stair case. At the sugestion of Todd Burch (several months ago) I looked into Rixson pivot hinges. I found one on ebay for a great deal and now that I have it I need to figure out how to install it.

I've included a picture and my question has to do with installing it in the concrete foundation. Do I need to drill/chisel out a pocket and install the hinge in wet concrete and let it cure? Or do I simply drill holes that the concrete anchors go into?

Dan,

When you are pouring the concrete, there is a plastic can from Rixson that acts a a form to create a void in the concrete. Then the hinge drops in and you use anchors, I don't know what your doing, but Ives also makes lighter floor pivots. At the top(head) there is a "walking beam pivot " with adjustment, that is mounted.
