So I got to use a real jointer for the first time this weekend. Actually, it was the first time I used a jointer of any kind, "real" or otherwise. My dad has a Powermatic 54A and I have a kitchen island project that is way behind. Having some trouble getting the top flat by hand or with sleds and my planer, I broke down and ripped it up to take over to his place. Lots of fun, to say the least. Good tools are hard to beat.
