In a week we leave for a week and a half in Paris and Hamburg Germany. Only a couple days in Paris and the rest of the time in Hamburg. We'll hit the standard tourist spots while spending a bunch of time with relatives. I was wondering if anyone had any input on things to see of interest to a woodworker.

I remember some articles in Wood magazine a while back about carving in Hamburgh. If I remember correctly they have both a museum with carving and a number of important buildings with extravagant one if a kind carving.. I'd jump to google. Most of what I remember about Paris is rude waiters.

Forget woodworking. See that here. Instead spend time looking in the bakery windows for a hardball shaped chocolate covered pastry that is "to die for". Then drink wonderful beer.
Enjoy your trip.

Go to the Flee market in Paris
The most famous flea market in Paris is the one at Porte de Clignancourt, officially called Les Puces de Saint-Ouen, but known to everyone as Les Puces (The Fleas).

There are ( were ) a few places that had woodworking items. Good stuff to see.
