While in Jackson, MS for Thanksgiving weekend I picked up a "new" toy. I brought home the scrollsaw that I grew up with. It's a Delta Rockwell 40-100 which is a 16" belt driven scrollsaw. It has seen better days, but it's about to get some pampering.

It was manufactured in September, 1965. I can't remember when we got it, but I remember using it when I was 5. That was in '71.

I know it makes no sense to dump money into something you can get in good shape at a yard sale for $40. Heck, you can get a brand new scrollsaw for 100 bucks that can run rings around this one. I just happen to really like the older tools (my TS is from '74). I think it would be kind of neat if my kids learned on the same machines that I did.

Pictures are on the way. :D

Jim. I think it makes perfect sense to dump money into this machine. This machine has a history, so to speak. It has your memories associated with it.
Restore it, enjoy it, and for gosh sakes use it.
